SKUs can be created and updated in bulk via import, but sometimes editing one SKU at a time is just what you need. In this case, the Catalog Edit SKU interface provides just what you need: a detailed view of the current catalog data for an existing SKU and the ability to make changes to the SKU's listing status, product attributes, inventory, and pricing.

The Edit view organizes this into a few areas: the Sidebar, Catalog (for product data), Inventory & Pricing, and Errors.

Sidebar

Clicking on any SKU in the Catalog, Inventory or QuickEdit pages will bring up the Edit SKU left sidebar including basic information about the SKU and its listing status on your channels, along with options to edit product attributes (Catalog), Inventory and Pricing, and view any errors. Read on to learn more about each of the sections within the left sidebar.

Beginning at the top left, if you're editing a Group, you'll see a dropdown box and toggles to let you easily switch between editing variants:

Below that, you'll see important basic information about the selected SKU such as the SKU's Title and the the selected SMART Type. If the SKU is part of a group, you'll also see Role which will show whether the SKU is a variant or the Master SKU of the group and the group's current Pivot Attributes such as Size and Color. Finally, you will see any Labels currently applied to this SKU and a button to add new Labels.

Important Note: Near the top right of the sidebar, there is a large white gear icon. On this drop-down menu you'll find these functions:
Edit Product Group
Ungroup - This will break up the existing group into a number of single SKUs.

The Manage Variant section of the sidebar includes these links to manage Catalog (product attributes), Inventory & Pricing, and (if there are any errors present on the current SKU) Errors.

(NOTE: These items are discussed in greater detail in later sections of this article.)

The next section you'll see is Manage Listings:

Each of your channel and storefront integrations will be shown here. The toggle on the right indicates whether an item has been listed to that channel and allows you to set the SKU to list or don't list.

If that toggle is green and in the On position (to the right) it's been set to list. In this position Zentail will send all enabled feeds.

If the toggle is white and in the Off position (to the left) it's not listed. This state usually indicates that this SKU has never been listed to this channel, and that Zentail is sending no feeds of any kind to this channel.

If the toggle is red it means you have a critical issue that needs to be addressed before the SKU can be listed to that specific channel, but after clearing that issue the SKU will then attempt to list automatically.

If the toggle is light green and in the Off position it means the SKU was listed but has been delisted, and that we are now sending 0 inventory perpetually to keep the item out of stock. More details on that here.

To the left of the toggle you'll see a number of other icons:

The gear icon will let you edit the Advanced Options for that channel, such as price or description overrides and payment and shipping templates:

The eyeball icon will show you the currently listing this SKU is attached to if that channel supports it. (Not present for Newegg, Facebook or Wish.)

If any of your integrations is still in Test Mode, that will be indicated next to the integration name.

Catalog

Clicking Catalog in the sidebar will open a panel on the right and allow you edit the product data for the selected SKU.

The attributes displayed are based on the SKU's selected SMART Type and organized by function to make editing simpler. However, you can also use the Search tool to quickly access the attribute you need without scrolling.

In addition, there is an Add Attribute button next to the Search tool in the header bar. Using Add Attribute, you can customize the the Edit view for this SKU or Group to include any attribute in Zentail -- even if it isn't included in the SMART Type!

Note that there is no SAVE button on the page. All changes made here will update automatically.

Inventory and Pricing

If you click Inventory & Pricing on the left, you'll be able to edit the inventory levels and bin locations for each warehouse, as well as the Pricing, Repricing and Sale Pricing fields:

Errors

If the SKU you are currently editing has any listing errors, you will see the Errors section. Clicking this will show you any listing errors present on this SKU such as attributes missing values.

FAQs

How do I save my changes?

Zentail will save your changes as soon as you press Enter/Return or click away from the edited value. You no longer need to confirm changes with a Save button.

How can I undo a change I made to product data?

If you accidentally make a change you didn't mean to, you can click the large white gear icon at the top of the SKU pane and then click Product History to see a list of all recent changes made to this SKU, making it easy to see what you changed and to reverse the change if need be.

What if I don't see an attribute here that I need to edit?

Attributes can always be edited in QuickEdit, however you can also click Add Attribute at the top right and add any attributes you wish to include for the currently edited SKU or Group.

Where did the three-dot menu go?
The three dot menu was replaced with the large white gear icon at the top right of the sidebar. It contains all the same functions other than View Listing Errors, which is access further down via the Errors link.
