Zentail SMART Types allow you to automatically categorize products and send product type-specific attributes to all channels. The SMART Type platform is constantly learning based on common attributes in use for specific SMART Types across our growing seller base.

For example, if you want to list a button-down long sleeve shirt, one marketplace might categorize it as a "Dress Shirt" and want to know the sleeve length, while another marketplace might categorize it as a "Button Down Shirt" and want to know the "length".  Zentail's SMART Type system maps all these categories and attributes so you can list faster, with greater accuracy, and provide each of your channels with the highest quality data. We believe this technology is game-changing and we're excited for your business to benefit from it.

It also determines what attributes are most valuable in that category, and maps the channel differences for those attributes. For example, 'Wattage' may be 'BulbWattage' on Amazon, 'Power' on eBay, and 'Wattage' on Walmart. And may even use a different set of valid units on each one (watts, Watts, W). The SMART type handles all this too.

To edit or assign a SMART Type:

  1. On your Catalog page search for and click on the SKU to select it.

  2. In the left sidebar that opens for that SKU, click Catalog to access the detailed product information.

  3. At the upper right, you will see the SMART Type field where you can search for and select the desired SMART Type (based on Amazon Item Type values). To save your selected SMART Type, simply tab to another field.

  4. Scroll down to the Categorization section to view the categorization for that Smart Type and edit if desired.
