An order placed on your own webstore is the most valuable order you can receive. Unlike orders placed on a marketplace, you own the customer data for orders through BigCommerce. You can use this information to market to your customer base and increase your Customer Lifetime Value (CLV).

If you are using FBA to fulfill your BigCommerce orders, it can result in a conflicting user experience. The customer will receive the order in an Amazon-branded package- sending the message that this product can also be purchased on the Amazon marketplace. While it is certainly encouraged to make FBA inventory available for BigCommerce orders as a backup warehouse, the best practice is to have your own fulfillment method in place for BigCommerce orders. You can even go one step further and send the customer a thank you message on the packing slip!
