In the wake of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Amazon has temporarily suspended FBA fulfillment of items that are deemed non-essential in an effort to prioritize shipping products with more demands such as health and cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment.
What this means for you
If you are a seller of a non-essential category, you may notice that shipping times for your FBA listings have been delayed for up to one month or longer, which will essentially deter your customers from purchasing on your listings due to long ship times.
You may be affected if you sell in a category outside of the following, which may be considered “non-essential”: baby products, health and household items, beauty and personal care, groceries, industrial, scientific and pet supplies.
Some things you can do
First and foremost, you should open a case with Amazon support to let them know about this and see if there is something they can do to help temporarily deactivate your FBA listings or otherwise alleviate your situation. You can close listings in Seller Central as well.
Through Zentail, make sure you have prefer FBA disabled so that you can offer your merchant fulfilled listings alongside FBA listings. You should also make your merchant fulfilled listing price more competitive than your FBA price so that your merchant fulfilled listing with faster ship time is more likely to be in the buy box. You can do this in Zentail by filling out the FBA Price Override field. You can even do this en masse easily by using a Bulk Action to set your FBA Price Override field to a percentage of your Item Price (the price of your merchant fulfilled listings). For example if you wanted to set your FBA Price to be 10% more than your merchant fulfilled price, you’d want to multiply your Item Price by 1.10.
