You can now change many products at once without leaving QuickEdit. The bulk action panel opens beside your grid, and your filters and selection stay in view.
Before, Create bulk action sent you to the Bulk Actions page in a second tab. It no longer does. The panel runs the change for you right here.
Open the panel
Filter QuickEdit to the products you want. Tick rows if you only want some of them.
Open the Actions menu in the toolbar.
Under Apply to, choose the products you ticked or All in the view.
Click Create bulk action.
The panel is titled Bulk action. Its link to Run History opens in a new tab, so your draft stays where it is.
What the panel can do
The panel can set a field to one value, or clear a field. It writes to your catalog value, which every channel uses.
For anything else, use Actions > Other bulk actions. It opens the Bulk Actions page, as before. Use it for:
Formulas, such as item_price*0.9.
Scheduled or repeating actions.
Update and push to channel, and other action types.
Changes to one channel only, such as a channel price override.
See Bulk Actions and Automation Rules for those.
The three stages
The panel lists three stages: Scope, Steps and Review and run. Click any stage to go back and change it.
1. Scope
Scope is the set of products the action will change. Check the line at the top. It tells you how many products are in scope, and how many rows you unticked.
2. Steps
Pick the field to change. Then type the new value, or switch the step to Clear.
When you are ready, click Review. To abandon the draft, choose Discard. Zentail asks Discard this bulk action? Nothing has run at that point, so nothing changes on your products.
3. Review and run
Review shows what the action will change before it changes anything.
Current values lists the values the field holds now, with the number of products on each.
Drop leaves one of those groups out of the run. Restore puts it back.
Show products lists sample products in a group. Show in grid filters the grid behind the panel to that group.
Listed on shows which storefronts the change reaches.
Not sent shows products the action will skip, with the reason.
When the action would overwrite or delete existing values, Zentail asks you to confirm first. A run can't be undone. Nothing keeps a copy of the old values. To go back, run another bulk action with the old value.
Click Start to run it. Click Back to return to your steps.
While it runs
The panel shows Bulk action progress and a count such as 400 of 1,200 done.
Landed means saved in Zentail. Your storefronts pick the change up after that. A product can show as landed before its storefronts show the new value.
Cancel run stops the run. Products not yet reached stay as they are. What has landed stays.
If Zentail can't read the run's progress, the panel says so. The run may still be writing. Open Run History to check. Stop following clears the panel but does not stop the run.
Only one bulk action can run at a time. If you start a second, you will see A bulk action is already running.
Read the results
When the run ends, the panel shows one line of counts: landed, not landed, unconfirmed and not tried.
Landed: saved in Zentail.
Not landed: Zentail left it as it was. Each reason is listed with its count.
Unconfirmed: the write may or may not have saved. Check these in QuickEdit.
Not tried: the run never reached them.
Use Show in grid next to a reason to see those products in QuickEdit.
Find past runs
Every run is kept in Run History. Open it from the panel header, or from the Zentail menu. Per-product detail is kept for 30 days. The totals stay after that.
